While we all concentrate on Acer tablet news — especially on Acer Iconia Tab A500 and their future Sandy Bridge tablets, there are worth-to-mention news from the old side — netbooks.

Acer has been working to release an education oriented dual OS netbook to the student market. The new netbook will have option to boot Android or Windows. The E in new Aspire One E100 apparently hints about Education. The netbook will have rubber coating (yeah, against student device abuse, hits, bumps whatever), pre-installed education programs, labeling for school branding.

Exact specs are not known but we can expect a 10.1 ” standard display, Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 250GB to 500GB hard drive, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and up to 8 hrs battery life.

According to latest tablet news, Acer will release 3 more Android tablets in the first half of this year. The new Acer tablets will range from 7 to 10 inches and will feature the new Intel Sandy Bridge processors.
